NPC Plans more Diversified Petchem Output by 2025

TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- The Deputy Minister of Petroleum for Petrochemical Affairs said major development plans were under way in the petrochemical industry to add more diversity to the country’s petrochemical output by 2025.

Addressing a ceremony to farewell the former project manager of NPC on Monday, Behzad Mohammadi said that 17 projects were planned to come online by the end of the current calendar year to March 2021, adding NPC is taking major steps to diversity production by 2025.

The CEO of the National Petrochemical Company further said the macro development planning of this industry is based on all available feedstock and the implementation of hybrid feedstock projects is also on the agenda for this purpose.

Iran is preparing to enhance its petrochemical output from currently 66 million tons per year. To this effect, it has defined numerous projects to bolster its output.
