Addressing a
ceremony to launch a number of petrochemical projects on Thursday, April 15, Ali
Pajouhan stated: “The main task of the Petrochemical Research and Technology
Company as a subsidiary of the National Petrochemical Company, is developing technical
knowhow for launching petrochemical plants and production of strategic
materials and catalysts for petrochemical complexes, and this complex has
achieved significant achievements in recent years with the efforts of prominent
scientists and researchers working internationally.”
He said that
PRTC for the first time in the previous calendar year acquired the technical savvy
of building a heavy polyethylene production unit for Tabriz Petrochemical Plant
with 300,000 tons of annual production capacity. It also developed the
technical knowledge of the polyethylene unit for Bushehr Petrochemical Plant with
a capacity of 400,000 tons per year, and the Fateh Propylene Production Unit with
an annual capacity of 120,000 tons.
Moreover,
the company also localized the technical savvy for construction of a plant for
production of polypropylene from natural gas with a capacity of 900,000 tons,
including three production plants of methanol, propylene and polypropylene for
the Islamabad-West petrochemical project, he said.
