(Sunday, May 15) at the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding
between the Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (PGPIC) and Petrochemical
Research and Technology Company (PRTC), which was held on the sidelines of the
third day of the 26th Iran International Oil, Gas, Refining and Petrochemical
Exhibition, said: “With the planning done, the capacity of the petrochemical
industry will double by the end of the eighth development plan, and as we move
to the end of the chain, the processes of the petrochemical units will become
more complex, so the technological needs of this industry will also increase.”
Emphasizing the need for
investment of petrochemical holdings in the field of development of knowledge
and technologies of petrochemical industry, he added: "Considering the
need of neighboring countries for equipment and products of petrochemical
industry, Iran's petrochemical sector should be developed to export engineering
services and technologies to set up a petrochemical unit.”
The CEO of the National
Petrochemical Company continued: "Latin America is one of our goals for
the development of cooperation, while in the field of Eurasian market and other
markets, we are considering to expand cooperation."
Shahmirzaei said:
"By increasing the production capacity of the petrochemical industry in
the coming years, in addition to expanding the target markets, we must be
self-sufficient in the field of technology to create high employment in
addition to generation of hard currency for the country."
Inviting all interested
parties to enter the field of knowledge-based, he said: "The development
of the petrochemical industry is a necessity for the country, because using downstream
petrochemical products can create thousands of jobs."
