TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- Iran's petrochemical industry has taken significant measures to preserve the environment and expand green spaces, creating about 3,000 hectares of green space across the country.

The health, safety, environment, and defense management of the National Petrochemical Company (NPC) announced that there is a need to create green space in manufacturing and industrial companies at least 10% of the space owned by each company.

However, the petrochemical industry has gone beyond this requirement by creating about 55% green space, which is a valuable achievement.

This figure is 43% more than the expected requirements, and it showcases the industry's commitment to environmental conservation.

The petrochemical industry is serious about its commitment to preserving the environment, and it has continued to create green spaces in its projects and complexes.

Last year, for instance, the industry initiated mangrove planting operations in 500 hectares of land in Mahshahr region to protect the environment.

The HSE manager of the NPC, Davoud Emadi, recently emphasized the industry's special attention to environmental preservation, describing it as environmentally friendly.

Emadi also highlighted the role of the industry in creating value added and jobs in the country's economy.

The NPC is ready to cooperate with the Department of Environmental to remove the current obstacles to achieving their environmental goals.

With these significant strides in preserving the environment, the petrochemical industry is setting an example for other manufacturing and industrial companies to follow.
