TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- Iran's deputy petroleum minister and head of the National Petrochemical Company (NPC) visited the news headquarters of the 27th Iran International Oil, Gas, Refining and Petrochemical Exhibition (Iran Oil Show) in Tehran on Friday.

Morteza Shahmirzai inspected the editorial offices of Shana News Agency, Mashal Weekly and Iran Petroleum, the English-language monthly magazine of the Iranian Ministry of Petroleum, at the exhibition and praised journalism as a very lasting and valuable profession.

Shana is the official news agency of Iran's oil ministry and covers energy-related news and events. Mashal is a weekly publication that focuses on economic and social issues.

The exhibition, which officially opened on Wednesday and will run until Saturday, is the most important event for Iran's oil industry and has witnessed the presence of 200 foreign companies from 13 countries in the world.

Iran is trying to boost its oil production and exports after former U.S. President Donald Trump withdrew from a 2015 nuclear deal and reimposed sanctions on Tehran's energy sector. Iran and world powers are holding talks in Vienna to revive the deal.
