TEHRAN (NIPNA) - Morteza Shahmirzaei, Deputy Petroleum Minister and CEO of the National Petrochemical Company (NPC), emphasized the importance of social responsibility in the development of the petrochemical industry.

Speaking at a meeting with the social responsibility secretaries of the petrochemical sector on Sunday, July 21, 2024, Shahmirzaei called for institutionalizing collaboration among all industry stakeholders and advancing development with a national resolve.

Shahmirzaei highlighted the effective initiatives undertaken by strategic councils in Asaluyeh and Mahshahr in adhering to social responsibilities.

He noted that other regions, such as Makran, could also implement strategic and impactful actions in this regard.

Shahmirzaei stated, "To achieve balanced development of the petrochemical industry and complete the value chain, it is essential to institutionalize synergy among all industry players and take steps towards development with a national commitment."

He further stressed that the plans formulated by petrochemical holdings and companies must be purposeful, intelligent, and considerate of the diverse conditions of different regions, with coordination from the council's secretariat to serve the people effectively.

Additionally, Shahmirzaei underscored the importance of the petrochemical industry utilizing all its capacities to support the significant Arbaeen pilgrimage, expecting the companies to be as active and diligent as they were last year in ensuring the event's success.
