Iran Aims to Expand Petchem Market in Africa, Official Says

Tehran, July 24 (NIPNA) - Iran’s National Petrochemical Company (NPC) is actively working to expand its petrochemical market in Africa, according to Hassan Abbaszadeh, Director of Planning and Development at NPC.

This initiative is being pursued in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Speaking at a press conference for the 15th International Petrochemical Industry Conference (IPF) on Tuesday, Abbaszadeh detailed the upcoming conference's agenda, which includes seven sessions featuring 32 speakers. Topics will cover the outlook for the petrochemical industry, modern governance and development models, petrochemical technologies, sustainable carbon capture and water management, research and technological projects, smart industry, energy optimization, investment and innovation, environmental issues, and the development of value chains.

Abbaszadeh announced a special session with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which will include virtual participation from ambassadors of Brazil, Turkey, China, and Indonesia. The session aims to support Iran's market expansion efforts in Africa.

The conference will also feature seven specialized workshops with 30 speakers discussing environmental issues, the Fourth Industrial Revolution, domestic manufacturing, catalysts, the methanol value chain, and project management. Additionally, there will be a side exhibition and business development meetings.

The 15th International Petrochemical Industry Conference (IPF), hosted by NPC under the theme "Clean Technology," will take place at the IRIB Conference Center on August 4-5.
