TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- A commemorative stamp marking the self-sufficiency in petrochemical catalysts was unveiled by the Deputy Oil Minister for Petrochemical Affairs on the sidelines of the 15th Iran Petrochemical Forum (IPF).

The event took place on Sunday, August 4, during the opening day of the forum.

The unveiling ceremony celebrated the success of Iran's petrochemical industry in domestically producing 99 catalysts, adsorbents, and initiators used in the sector. The ceremony was attended by Morteza Shahmirzaei, CEO of the National Petrochemical Company (NPC), alongside foreign ambassadors, international guests, several members of the Iranian Parliament, and senior petrochemical industry executives.

In his remarks, Shahmirzaei highlighted the strategic goal set at the beginning of the 13th administration to achieve self-sufficiency in petrochemical catalysts by summer 2025. He praised the dedication of the Petrochemical Research and Technology Company and the relentless efforts of local specialists, who managed to accomplish this goal a year ahead of schedule, enabling the celebration of this significant milestone.

The 15th IPF, hosted by NPC, is being held on August 4-5, 2024, at the IRIB Conference Center with the theme "Clean Technology."
