During a workshop on AI in the polymer and plastics industry at the
18th Iranplast International Exhibition, Tajanjari explained that AI aims to
create intelligent machines. He described AI as a simulation of human
intelligence for computers, where machines are programmed to think and behave
like humans.
He outlined various advantages of AI in the polymer industry,
including material property simulation, process optimization, designing and
developing new polymers, quality detection, and control. He added that AI can
also help reduce waste, recycle polymers, predict polymer lifespans, and
optimize polymer compositions.
Tajanjari further emphasized that AI can enhance automation in
production processes, improve the performance of industrial robots, facilitate
predictive maintenance, automate quality control, and better manage supply
chains. He also noted the significant rise in the application of AI across
various industries such as medicine, pharmaceuticals, automotive,
manufacturing, agriculture, energy, and retail in advanced economies, and urged
for similar adoption in the petrochemical sector to boost production and
quality.
