Petroleum Minister Hails Firefighters on National Firefighting, Safety Day

TEHRAN (NIPNA) – In a message commemorating National Firefighting and Safety Day, Iran’s Minister of Petroleum, Mohsen Paknejad, expressed his hopes for the prioritization of safety as a fundamental duty and essential principle across the oil industry.

 

 

In his message, he emphasized the vision of achieving a "sustainable and accident-free oil industry."

Paknejad highlighted the role of dedicated oil industry workers who have safeguarded national assets under difficult conditions such as the Iran-Iraq war and economic sanctions.

He recalled the heroism of firefighters during the attacks on the Abadan refinery on October 7, 1980, marking it as a proud day in the history of Iran’s oil industry.

Paknejad also stressed the responsibility of all managers to enforce strict safety standards and to create a safe working environment that protects both human and physical assets of the oil industry.

He concluded by extending his congratulations on National Firefighting and Safety Day to all oil industry colleagues, courageous firefighters, and HSE professionals, and reaffirmed the commitment to making safety a top priority.
