In a statement released on Tuesday, Alireza Sedighizadeh, CEO of Karun
Petrochemical Plant, expressed satisfaction with the progress of the HYCO unit
and emphasized the significance of this development.
"While igniting the flare may appear straightforward, it involves
complex technical procedures. I would like to extend my gratitude to all my
colleagues who have worked tirelessly to achieve this," he said.
Sedighizadeh highlighted the pivotal role of Iranian companies in the
execution of the HYCO project and expressed optimism that full operational
capacity would be achieved in the coming months. "Once we secure feedstock
supply of CO and hydrogen, Karun Petrochemical will be able to reach 100% of
its nominal capacity," he added.
Hossein Miri, head of operations at Karun Petrochemical, also
commented on the progress, stating that no significant technical or operational
challenges have been encountered in recent months. "The pace of the
project's completion has accelerated, with key technical components such as
cooling systems, power substations, utilities, wastewater management, and the
control room now in place," Miri said. He further expressed hope that,
with the necessary funding and equipment procurement, the project would reach
full operational status soon.
