The meeting focused on ensuring the continuous monitoring of the
petrochemical market and addressing the needs of the downstream petrochemical
industries.
Hassan Abbaszadeh, Deputy Minister of Petroleum and CEO of the
National Petrochemical Company (NPC), emphasized the importance of expanding
cooperation with the Ministry of Industry, Mine, and Trade (IMT) to regulate
the petrochemical market.
"Collaborative efforts with the Ministry of Industry should be
extended across various sectors of the petrochemical industry. Addressing
production barriers and facilitating the operations of downstream industries
are critical strategies to boost production," Abbaszadeh stated.
He further stressed that continuous market monitoring, in cooperation
with the Ministry of Industry, regulatory bodies, and the Iran Mercantile
Exchange, would help clarify the real demand for feedstock required by
downstream industries. He also noted that the role of professional
associations, such as the Petrochemical Employers Association and other
specialized groups in the downstream sector, would be essential in this
process.
Abbaszadeh added, "Regular and accurate reports on the state of
the petrochemical market will help stabilize the market, allowing petrochemical
complexes to supply production units based on the actual needs of downstream
industries."
During the meeting, officials from the Ministry of Industry,
petrochemical company CEOs, and representatives from the Iran Mercantile
Exchange also shared their perspectives and highlighted the need for
specialized sessions to further regulate the petrochemical market.
