In an interview with NIPNA, Hassanpour emphasized the importance of
distancing from raw oil exports, saying, "We must undoubtedly seek methods
to neutralize sanctions and utilize tools where we hold greater power. One such
tool is the petrochemical industry."
He further noted that the oil sector is one of the most influential
aspects of the country’s economy, and proper planning is essential to
strengthen the petrochemical sector.
"The petrochemical industry can be a good model for the country's
economy," Hassanpour asserted.
He emphasized that petrochemical and its related industries are at the
forefront of the economic war, serving as the first chain after oil.
He added that one of the core foundations of national development is
the establishment of petrochemical industries, which not only help prevent raw
material exports but also provide the necessary inputs for downstream
industries, boosting domestic production and fostering economic growth.
Hassanpour concluded by pointing out that there are abundant
opportunities to expand Iran’s petrochemical sector, and these must be utilized
to their fullest potential.
