The appointment was announced by the Head of the National Civil
Defense Organization, General Gholamreza Jalali, and Iran's Minister of
Petroleum, Dr. Mohsen Paknejad.
In a joint statement, the two officials emphasized that the
appointment aims to enhance coordination efforts for improving the region's
preparedness, safety, and ability to counter potential threats.
The decision was made in accordance with a directive from the
Secretariat of the Supreme National Security Council and focuses on ensuring
comprehensive security measures within the region.
The appointment document states: "With the blessings of the
Almighty, and through effective collaboration with military and governmental
organizations, we hope to achieve substantial progress in carrying out assigned
tasks, advancing safety measures, and enhancing the region's defensive
capabilities."
