Speaking ahead of the 11th Petrochemical Industry Excellence Award,
Hassan Abbaszadeh highlighted the crucial role of the event in enhancing
competition and fostering industry-wide progress. "The outstanding
presence of petrochemical companies in various fields has enabled industry
players to move toward excellence and growth while enhancing both the quantity
and quality of their operations," he said.
The award, according to Abbaszadeh, serves as a platform for
evaluating and benchmarking companies' performance. "This initiative
provides petrochemical firms with the opportunity to learn from each other’s
capabilities and achievements, placing them under external evaluation by
qualified assessors," he noted.
The current edition of the Excellence Award prioritizes key factors
such as optimizing feedstock utilization, energy efficiency, and expanding the
value chain. "Companies that succeed in converting semi-processed
materials into higher-value products will receive recognition," Abbaszadeh
stated.
He also underscored the significance of supply chain development,
safety improvements, and environmental protection as fundamental criteria in
the assessment process. "Fortunately, these aspects have consistently been
supported by petrochemical companies," he added.
This year, 67 companies are participating in the award, including 40
major firms competing for the main prize. Additionally, nine project-executing
firms will be evaluated under the CPM3 model, while three contractors and 15
downstream companies will also take part.
"The Petrochemical Industry Excellence Award is not limited to
petrochemical producers alone but extends to consultants, contractors,
suppliers, and downstream industries," Abbaszadeh emphasized.
The 2025 edition of the award includes specialized workshops and
training courses for evaluators and excellence managers. Moreover, industry
tours have been organized to facilitate deeper learning and experience sharing.
A key distinction of this year’s event, Abbaszadeh noted, is the
increased involvement of domestic assessors. "Companies that have
demonstrated productivity growth, value creation, supply chain capability
expansion, and safety enhancements will be recognized for their
achievements," he concluded.
