According to the company’s public relations office, Apadana Petrochemical—the
sole methanol producer within the Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company
(PGPIC)—has joined the ranks of Iran’s methanol producers as of February 27,
with a planned annual capacity of 1.6 million tons of AA-grade methanol.
Currently, the facility sources its required oxygen from Damavand
Petrochemical under an agreement, while negotiations for the construction of an
air separation unit by a contractor are ongoing.
In parallel with production, Apadana has been studying and planning
downstream methanol projects to expand its value chain. The company has already
secured the necessary permits and continues to coordinate closely with PGPIC
and the National Petrochemical Company (NPC) to advance these initiatives.
The Apadana facility is located in Phase Two of the Pars Special
Economic Energy Zone.
